About the club

A small, serious sailing club on a small, serious lake.

Three dinghies racing on a flat-calm blue day at Leatherlips YC.

Founded in 1967 by a dozen families who were tired of driving three hours for a Sunday race, Leatherlips YC has been member-owned and volunteer-run ever since. The board rotates. The burgee doesn't.

We race PHRF on Wednesday nights, one-design on Saturdays, and cruise anywhere the wind is. Juniors run the dock in July. Someone is always late for race committee.

If you'd rather not have a stranger tell you what racing is like, come to a Thursday-night dinner. Everyone sits down at 6.
